Our Story
Agave Water Systems was founded with a clear mission: to deliver thoughtful, sustainable landscape and water management solutions tailored for Arizona’s unique desert environment. We proudly serve Fountain Hills, Rio Verde, Cave Creek, Scottsdale, Gold Canyon, and surrounding areas—specializing in the design and installation of smart irrigation systems, pavers, artificial turf, and custom water-efficient landscapes.
We combine hands-on field experience with formal training to ensure every project is built to last. Our work is grounded in science and guided by the latest best practices, drawing from ongoing education with the Arizona Landscape Contractors Association and the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. Courses like Smartscape and Smart Irrigation keep our team at the forefront of desert-adapted design and water conservation.
To stay ahead of industry innovations, we regularly engage in product and technique training with top suppliers and manufacturers—including Rain Bird, Toro, EasyFlow, SiteOne, and Ewing. This gives our clients access to the latest water-saving technology, smart controller systems, and efficient installation methods.

About The Founder
Jose Delgado built Agave Water Systems on a foundation of education, experience, and a passion for sustainable outdoor spaces. After earning degrees from Phoenix College and Mesa Community College, he continued his studies at Arizona State University while working in the landscaping and construction industries. Over more than a decade, he developed deep expertise in estimating, project management, irrigation systems, and hardscape installations — skills that now help him deliver reliable, high-quality outdoor projects across the Valley.
Our specialities
At Agave Water Systems, we specialize in creating durable, high-quality outdoor spaces that enhance Arizona homes and landscapes. With professional licensing in both masonry and landscaping, we deliver projects that balance functionality, craftsmanship, and long-term value.
Paver Installation
We expertly install concrete, brick, and natural stone pavers for patios, walkways, driveways, and outdoor living areas. Proper grading, base preparation, and compaction are standard in every project we complete. Our attention to detail ensures lasting beauty and structural integrity, even in Arizona’s tough climate.
Small Masonry and Brickwork Projects
Agave Water Systems holds a CR-31 masonry license and specializes in small residential masonry projects. We build garden walls, seat walls, decorative block features, brick mailboxes, and planters. Our work is designed to enhance your outdoor space with clean craftsmanship and quality materials. (We do not currently offer large-scale or structural masonry services.)
Turf Installation
We install high-quality artificial turf systems that offer the look of natural grass without the maintenance. Our turf solutions are ideal for residential backyards, pet areas, play spaces, and more. We focus on proper subgrade preparation and drainage to ensure your turf stays beautiful and functional for years.
Irrigation Installation and Repairs
We design and install efficient irrigation systems to keep your landscape healthy while conserving water. We also diagnose and repair leaking valves, broken lines, clogged emitters, and faulty sprinkler heads. Whether it's a full system installation or a targeted repair, we help you keep your irrigation running smoothly.
Smart Controller Upgrades
Take control of your water usage with a smart irrigation controller upgrade. We install and program modern controllers that automatically adjust watering schedules based on weather, soil conditions, and plant needs — helping you save money and protect Arizona’s valuable water resources.
